August is here and there is SO much to look forward to this month! Now is the time to pack in as much summer fun and community as possible before the hustle and bustle of fall begins again.

Minnesota FARE

August 1 - August 10
Potluck | Rosedale Center

Anna is a high school senior who has a musical background playing bass, singing in a variety of choirs, and loves to listen to old folk and singer-songwriter artists. Will is a music educator who graduated from University of Wisconsin-River Falls where he was able to further study guitar, brass instruments, voice, and loves to listen to and play jazz music. They complied a playlist of some of their favorite tunes to share with others!"

Enjoy themed activities, recreation fun, crafts and two Roseville favorites: the bounce castle and puppet show. Tonight we're at Rosebrook Park for the SUPERHERO CARNIVAL (rescheduled from Rosefest)! Test your super strength, train to be a superhero, maybe even meet a superhero- the superhero carnival has it all for future superhero's in the making."

Paint Your Cat on Canvas

Block Printing 101: artist Diana Eicher

August 16 | 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

"Local printmaking artist Diana Eicher will be with us to take adult students through the process of creating and making their own block printing pieces of art to take home.

It is recommended that students bring resource materials (drawings, photographs, etc) for an idea they would like to make into a print in the workshop."

Como Park Japanese Obon Festival 

August 17 | 3:00 - 9:00 p.m.

"Music, martial arts, singing, dancing, drumming, delicious food, vendors, games, and other aspects of Japanese culture will be featured at the annual Como Park Japanese Obon Festival on the grounds of the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory from 3:00pm – 9:00pm on Sunday, August 17. At the end of the Obon festival, lanterns are released onto the water so that the spirits can return to the other world."

Minnesota State Fair

August 21 - September 1

"Today, often referred to as the “Great Minnesota Get-Together,” the annual Minnesota State Fair is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the region . . . This end-of-summer tradition is held the 12 days leading up to and through Labor Day. American Red Cross Blood Drive
