Comments Policy

Commenting on articles is a great way to provide feedback, ask questions, or participate in discourse related to the topic of the article.

Moderating comments is a low priority and takes time away from reporting and publishing the news. Some articles or social media posts will not have a comments section. Most articles on the website have comments restricted to paying subscribers only as a benefit of supporting The Roseville Reader.

The Roseville Reader reserves the right to delete comments that are unkind, harmful, obviously spam, or for any other reason deemed necessary to protect civil discourse or safety. This applies to our website and social media pages.

We highly recommend participating in public comment during meetings and other forums or contacting your elected representatives in city council and school board directly.

What if there’s a typo?

The Roseville Reader is written and edited by humans. We make mistakes sometimes. We'll try to fix them when we see them. If it's just a typo, you can ignore it.

What if there’s a factual error?

That might happen. If we've reported the facts incorrectly, please let the editor know by sending an email to editor@rosevillereader.com. If we need to issue a correction, we will update the post to reflect the correction and put a note at the bottom of the article describing what was corrected.

Have a news tip or story idea?

Feel free to send an email! We can’t report on everything, but we appreciate hearing what you think is newsworthy.

We hope this provides a window into the rationale and perspective on comments. This could change in the future, so when in doubt, check this page for the latest on the comments policy.
