What to expect at the Oct. 28 Roseville Area School Board meeting
The Roseville Area School Board is meeting tonight, Tuesday, October 28.

Community Input

If you want to provide any feedback or share something with the school board, come to the community input session at 6:00 p.m. You must sign up by 3:00 p.m. the day of the meeting by filling out an online sign-up form or contacting the superintendent's office in person, by email, or by phone: 651-628-6452.
The Community Input session is not livestreamed or posted online to watch later.

Consent Agenda
The Consent Agenda is a list of items that the board will vote on all together. This usually includes the same items each meeting, such as the previous meeting's minutes, payment of bills, personnel - resignations, appointments, reductions, and gifts to schools. This time there is an approval of the School Resource Officer contract included in the consent agenda.
2025-2026 School Resource Officer Contract
The school board will be approving a contract to continue services with the Roseville Police Department for two School Resource Officers (SRO) at Roseville Area High School and Roseville Area Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the contract, the City of Roseville provides supervision of the SROs in accordance with the duties and responsibilities agreed upon with the school district. The school district will up 67% of the total costs associated with the salary and benefits of each SRO and cell phone expenses, not to exceed $101,601 per officer. Reports and Non-Action Items
Roseville Area School Board Handbook - First Reading
The board will be reviewing the final draft of the school board handbook, which was developed as a resource for newly elected board members. At this meeting, the board will have the opportunity to offer feedback or request additional changes. The final handbook will be approved in November 2025.
Action Items
Policy 584: Collection, Maintenance, Use and Release of Student Educational Data (reviewed) Second Reading
Maura Weyandt, associate superintendent, will review Policy 584. There were no changes requested from the first reading on October 14, 2025. View the current policy in the meeting materials.
School Board Governance Policies (200 Series) Second Reading
Clerk Rose Chu, Treasurer Mannix Clark, and Director Kitty Gogins—the board government policy review task force—presented revisions to the 200 series policies on School Board Governance at the Oct. 14 meeting. The requested changes have been implemented and the policies are coming back to the board for a second reading.
Board & Superintendent's Reports
The regular meeting will conclude with individual school board director reports and the superintendent's report. These reports usually include the formal and informal activities that each person has been involved with around the district or representing the district at various events.
Closed Session
After the regular school board meeting, the board will convene a closed session to consider labor negotiations strategy. The board must approve a motion to close the meeting to consider strategy for labor negotiations with Education Minnesota-Roseville.
How to Watch the School Board Meeting
School Board meetings are open to the public unless a closed session is part of the agenda. Meetings are held in the Fairview Room at Aŋpétu Téča Education Center (1910 County Road B West in Roseville). Meetings are usually held on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, except July.

The next regular school board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 12.
Upcoming Election
Early, absentee voting is underway for Roseville Area School Board and the capital projects levy for technology. Early in-person voting is available at certain hours at Ramsey County Library in Roseville and in Shoreview starting until Nov. 3.
