According to the presentation, approximately 1 in 4 Roseville Area Schools 8th and 11th graders reported feeling down, depressed, or hopeless in the past 2 weeks. Nearly 1 in 3 RAS 5th graders reported worrying a lot. Nationwide, nearly 1 in 5 youth ages 3-17 have been diagnosed with a mental, emotional, or behavioral health condition, according to CDC data provided in the presentation.

Action Items
2025-2026 Mid-Year Budget Revisions
RAS is currently under-enrolled by 72 students compared to what was projected in the spring when the preliminary budget was developed. This is the biggest impact on general fund revenue, alongside a reduction in Special Education Aid Projected. The FY26 general fund revenue has a $1.3 million shortfall vs the FY26 board approved preliminary budget. Executive Director of Business Services Shari Thompson will review the proposed revisions to the budget at the meeting.
Secondary Grading and Progress Reporting Modifications
In light of the impact of federal immigration enforcement activities on student attendance and academics, administrators have reviewed the district's secondary grading and progress reporting requirements. They are now recommending changes for students in grades 9-12 for the second trimester of the 2026-2026 school year. Delon Smith, associate superintendent, will provide additional information and temporary modifications to the grading and progress reporting requirements. These changes include allowing RAHS students to elect a pass/fail grade in up to five out of five courses during the second trimester.
Approval of Final 2026-2027 and Draft 2027-2028 School Year Calendars
Delon Smith will present the calendar and seek approval for the final 2026-2027 school year calendar. The 2027-2027 school year calendar will remain in draft form until presented to the school board for final approval in February 2027.
Reports
The meeting will conclude with board reports and superintendent's reports, to share their individual updates and reports on district activities.
