On Friday, September 19, the Friends of Roseville Parks Foundation will host the eleventh annual fundraising event Tapped & Uncorked. This ticketed tasting festival features local wine and beer tastings and live music, all in support of Roseville parks.

Tapped & Uncorked is a "premier celebration of Minnesota's best craft beers, wines, seltzers, ciders, and non-alcoholic beverages," according to event organizers.

Attendees will be able to sample dozens of local breweries, wineries, distilleries, and cideries and purchase food from several food trucks. The Free & Easy Band will be back this year and playing all night. You can even join your friends and neighbors in a game of corn hole and human foosball, among other games and activities.

"In recent years, the planning team has worked to add & increase non-alcoholic beverages in an effort to provide offerings to a wide spectrum of guests. This year, we have commitments from four servers, Summer Lakes, KUL Mocks, Lovejoy Bloody Mary Mix, Sharub Shrubs," Jill Anfang, Friends of Roseville Parks board member and Tapped & Uncorked co-chair, told the Roseville Reader.

For a list of all the local breweries, wineries, cideries, and distilleries, check out the Tapped & Uncorked website.

New this year is a Gift Card Raffle—one lucky winner will be the recipient of $600 in gift cards donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets are sold for $20, with all proceeds benefiting future Parks & Recreation projects.

Friends of Roseville Parks

Friends of Roseville Parks (FOR Parks) Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community parks foundation that was founded in 1969.

"Over the years, Friends of Roseville Parks has donated 1.75 million dollars to Roseville Parks & Recreation for improvements and additions throughout Roseville Parks," Anfang said.

Recent projects include replacement of the legendary Roseville Puppet Wagon, providing inclusive play features and enhancements to Lexington Park Playground, annual funding of the flowers along Lexington Ave, and adding "Fitness Pods" at Central Park Victoria West. FOR Parks has also facilitated generous donations toward the three mosaic cairns at Harriet Alexander Nature Center and replacing the Central Park Victoria West Playground with a fully accessible and inclusive play area.

Donations have also gone toward other playground features and updates, fireplaces at Cederholm Golf Course and park buildings, basketball hoops, signage, benches, and more.

"We work closely with the Parks & Recreation Administration team to identify park features and additions that are outside of their funding scope. FOR Parks is committed to facilitating additions of inclusive play features in as many Roseville parks as possible," Anfang said.

A volunteer effort

Tapped & Uncorked began in 2015, quickly becoming a tradition under the vision and leadership of Sharon Brown. More recently, Kori DeJong has taken up the mantle of leadership.

"A volunteer planning team, consisting of the Friends of Roseville Parks board members and community members (totaling more than 100 people), works tirelessly to bring the event to our community. We are assisted in hosting Tapped & Uncorked by City of Roseville staff, local businesses, and community partners," Anfang said. Anfang is working with Mary Holt to lead the volunteer planning team.

The 2025 Tapped & Uncorked planning team is still looking for volunteers to help host the event. Donate $20 and sign up for a two-hour volunteer shift, and you will receive a volunteer T-shirt and a tasting glass for sampling beverages in the main tasting area. Volunteers must be 21+, Anfang said. To sign-up, bring cash, check, or credit card to the Parks and Recreation desk at City Hall.

If you want to get involved beyond Tapped & Uncorked, FOR Parks is looking for new members and volunteers. Learn more about membership and volunteer opportunities online here.
