Visit your neighbors at these MN State Fair booths
Roseville area community members working and volunteering at the Minnesota State Fair

The Minnesota State Fair starts this week! The Great Minnesota Get Together is also the Great Roseville Get Together, with so many of our community members participating in the Fair in a variety of ways.
The Roseville Reader put out a call for information from our readers on how Roseville and Falcon Heights residents are working, volunteering, exhibiting, or competing at the Fair.
To kick off the Fair frenzy, here are six people working and volunteering at the State Fair from our community!
The Big Pepper
Margaret Barrett (Falcon Heights)
"We are local family run booth at the MN state fair. The Big Pepper. Located 1/2 block south of the midway entrance in front of the horse barn. Known for our deep fried ravioli, with our secret homemade sauce & stuffed green peppers. Beverages also available. Please come & visit."
Bridge N’ Barrel Root Beer Barrel stands
Erika Rustad (Roseville)

"There are 6 Barrel stands located at: Snelling Gate on Cosgrove & Dan Patch, north side of Kidway on Wright & Cooper, Randall & Underwood, across from Ye’ Old Mill Carnes & Underwood, across from Dairy Bldg on Judson & Underwood. This is our fourth year at the fair and we employ 60+ people to work at our stands. We serve Lift Bridge Soda products that are brewed in Stillwater, MN. The items we have are Lift Bridge Root Beer, Lift Bridge Black Cherry Soda, Lift Bridge Cream Soda (NEW this year) along with Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite. We have a coupon in the Blue Ribbon Coupon Book $1 off any 20 ounce soda…it’s coupon #4."
Minnesota Newspaper Museum
Jeana Hamm (Roseville)

"Here's a pic of me volunteering at the Minnesota Newspaper Museum at the MN State Fair. It's on the outside of the 4H building, open everyday of the fair. This year I'll be working from 9-2:30 on the 26th and 28th. It's a great little museum where you can see how papers were printed back in the day. My dad ran the local weekly Wausa Gazette in Wausa Nebraska. I worked with some machines like this in high school. Stop by. I'd love to share about it with you."
Editorial note: If you visit the museum, look at their printed newspaper for an article about the Roseville Reader!
Namaste Brows and Boutique
Jeena Gurung Vomhof (Roseville)

"I’m excited to share that Namaste Brows and Boutique will be back again this year as a vendor at the Minnesota State Fair. You can find us at the Grandstand, Second Floor, where we will be offering our handcrafted Nepali products, including unique gifts, accessories, and sustainable home décor items. Each piece is made by skilled artisans in Nepal, supporting women’s empowerment and helping to reduce waste through eco-conscious creations.
The Minnesota State Fair is one of our favorite ways to connect with the community, share our culture, and bring a piece of Nepal to Minnesota. We’ll be there for the entire Fair run, and we would love for readers to stop by, say hello, and explore our collection."
Sausage Sister & Me
Cherie Peterson (Roseville)

"I have a booth “Sausage Sister & Me in the Food Building (on east wall). For more than 20 years, we’ve been known for specialty sausages served in unique ways. From Day One, we’ve served “The Twisted Sister” which is our Porketta Marie sausage on a stick, spiraled with breadstick dough, sprayed with egg wash, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and baked ’til golden. In the photo, I’m also showing a long time favorite, "Puff Daddy on-a-stick” which is our Thai sausage, wrapped in puff pastry, sliced, skewered, and baked ’til golden. Last year, we introduced “3 Piggy Pals on-a-stick” using slices of Texas Two Step sausage, wrapped in bacon, filled with a cheesy mixture, topped with a slice of Jalapeño pepper and baked ’til creamy and crunchy. Stop by and try any of our menu items.
You, your family, and friends might enjoy reading “The Wisdom of the Sausage Sister.” The book tells my story of growing up in a family of grocers, butchers, and farmers, starting a sausage business, selling out of a Weenie Wagon, at the Minneapolis Farmers Market and finally at the Minnesota State Fair. Contact me for purchasing a copy at the discounted price of $15.00 per book at cheriepeterson.peterson@gmail.com."
State Fair Mounted Patrol
Charlotte Ferlic (Roseville)

"I have a horse and have been hired the last few years to be part of the State Fair’s Mounted Patrol Unit. We provide livestock escorts, security, ambulance escorts and offer general good will as everyone feels better after petting a horse."
