In this crisis in our communities caused by the "Operation Metro Surge" of federal immigration enforcement, you may be wondering about your rights.
All people in the United States have rights, regardless of immigration status. There are lots of resources and educational opportunities provided by community groups to help you understand your constitutional rights. Here are a few:
Minnesota8
Minnesota8 is an organization that provides immigrant support and resources for Southeast Asian communities. On their website, they have information about what to do if someone you care about gets detained and information about your rights when interacting with police and ICE. There is written information in English, Khmer, Lao, and Vietnamese. There are videos in English, Khmer, Hmong, and Vietnamese.

International Institute of Minnesota
International Institute of Minnesota is a nonprofit immigrant and refugee resettlement and service organization. They've provided a guide for your rights when interacting with ICE, in multiple languages.

League of Women Voters
On Sunday, Jan. 11, the League of Women Voters Roseville Area hosted a panel discussion called Due Process, the Constitution, and You. Panelists included Christine Tucci Osorio, ISD 622 Superintendent of Schools; Alicia Granse, ACLU-MN Staff Attorney; and Erica Scheider, Roseville City Chief of Police. The panelists answered audience questions about ICE, due process, and what is currently happening in the community from their individual perspectives.

Special City Council Meeting
After an outpouring of requests by residents for the city to do more, the City of Roseville has scheduled a Special Meeting for Jan. 22 to "discuss staff findings and consider policies, ordinances, and other actions related to immigration enforcement in our community."
