Finish line in sight for Roseville's Twin Lakes Area redevelopment

For over thirty years, the City of Roseville has been working to clean up and redevelop the land known as the Twin Lakes Area. The final piece of the puzzle is now in place as developers break ground on the Twin Lakes Technology Center.

Here are ten things to know about the history of this project:

1) The Twin Lakes Area is 300 acres of formerly contaminated industrial land located around Langton Lake and Oasis Lake on the north west corner of Roseville.

2) The land was first developed in the 1950s as a major trucking terminal, due to its prime location between Minneapolis and Saint Paul. In the 1980s, the federal government deregulated the trucking industry, which resulted in terminals reducing, moving, or consolidating operations.
