Rosefest: a weeklong celebration of summer and community
Rosefest traditions then and now
Roseville's signature community celebration is right around the corner with events starting on Monday with the Rose Parade.
What began as Central Park Funfest in 1971 has evolved into a full week of activities. Rosefest was made official in the early 1980s and the first Rose Parade was held in 1990. Rosefest has been celebrated nearly every year since and has grown and changed each time.
Various events have cycled in and out, some only for a season and others becoming long standing traditions. For example, fireworks have been part of Roseville's summer celebrations as long as anyone can remember, but used to be held on July 4.
