Vote for your favorite local gems in Roseville
What makes Roseville shine?
We all know that Roseville is a regional destination for shopping, dining, entertainment, and parks. But what makes Roseville shine? Why do we love living here? It's the local spots and small businesses—and the community formed around them. Roseville is more than a collection of national chains. We're not a place people sleep so they can go somewhere else to live. We've got a lot going on here!
That's why we're launching the inaugural Roseville Reader Local Gem Awards.
Now is the time to lift up the local small businesses, places, and people that have been a bright spot for you in the last 12 months. And that's the key—this is not a ranking or an evaluation. This is what some news outlets call a "readers' choice contest." Our goal is to give locals a chance to celebrate the local gems that make Roseville such a great community.
Ready to vote already?
We've got a wide variety of restaurant types and menu items on the ballot, small businesses, local groups and organizations, Little Free Libraries, and community organizers, among other unique categories!
Winners will get a warm fuzzy feeling, a graphic to display online, and a paper certificate to hang up proudly in their space. We'll be announcing the winners here at The Roseville Reader first, so make sure you're subscribed.
And remember, this is just for fun! Thanks for your grace as we roll this out for the first time.
In May, our readers nominated their favorites in each category. Now you're invited to vote for the winners. You don’t need to vote in every category—just the ones you feel the most connected to.
More details
If you're the type that likes to know more before you dive in, here's how we've organized this:
There are five sections:
- Local eats
- Local businesses
- Local organizations
- Local hangouts
- Local people
Nominee eligibility guidelines:
- Located in Roseville, MN
- Small Businesses, Minnesota-based franchises, locally-owned, etc. (No national chains)
- The same entity could be nominated for up to 3 categories.
- You could nominate your own business
How the ballot was decided:
- Top 5 most nominated entries made the ballot.
- If a category has less, it's because there weren't five different options nominated.
- If a category didn't get at least three different nominations, we eliminated the category.
That's enough details. Let's go!
