Celebrating Juneteenth in Roseville
Showcasing Black businesses, artists, performers, and community
This year there are two opportunities to celebrate Juneteenth in Roseville.
The first local event is the Roseville Juneteenth Celebration on June 13 and the second is the Showtime Juneteenth Jubilee on June 19, 2026.
Juneteenth is the longest-running African American holiday. It honors the end to slavery in the United States when enslaved people in Galveston Texas first learned they were free, two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. It's also an opportunity to celebrate and enjoy Black culture and community. Juneteenth—a combination of June and nineteenth—became a federal holiday in 2021.

Roseville Juneteenth Celebration

The Roseville Juneteenth Celebration is a collaboration between community volunteers, City of Roseville staff, and the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce. This is the first time in the eight years of this Roseville celebration that the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce has been involved, serving as the fiscal agent and collaborating on the planning. Previously, Do Good Roseville led the effort, but handed off the baton to the newly formed Juneteenth Planning Committee for 2026.
"Attendees can expect a vibrant day filled with live entertainment, local vendors, family-friendly activities, cultural experiences, community resources, and opportunities to support Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs," said Yolanda Pierson, President & CEO of the Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce.
This is a community-wide event and everyone is invited—individuals and people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures as well as businesses, organizations, faith groups, elected officials, and visitors from across the Twin Cities. The event is designed to honor the history and significance of Juneteenth and the African American experience, as well as an opportunity for the entire community to come together.
"Our goal is to create an event that not only celebrates freedom and resilience but also highlights pathways to economic opportunity and community prosperity," said Pierson.
The event also includes free entertainment at the amphitheater.
Performers include:
- DJ Biko of Groovytown Entertainment
- Jamie Jay
- TKO Knockout
- Tevin Anderson

"We hope attendees leave with a greater sense of belonging and connection to one another. In a time when communities are seeking opportunities to come together, this celebration provides space to learn, celebrate, support local businesses, and strengthen relationships that help build a more inclusive and thriving community for everyone," said Pierson.
The Roseville Juneteenth Celebration will be held Saturday, June 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Central Park Lexington at the Frank Rog Amphitheater.
Juneteenth Jubilee: Celebrating the Creative Heart of Our Black Neighbors

The Showtime Juneteenth Jubilee, co-sponsored by Arts Roseville and Showtime Studio & Coffee, is a community celebration focused on artistry, creativity, and community building. The event was dreamed up and organized by organized by Roseville resident Terri Stockburger, founder of Twin Temple Yoga, multidisciplinary artist, and art teacher.
"Showtime Studio and Coffee is prized for sharing music, art, and spreading community kindness. After a month of taking classes such as yoga and art, and listening to the vibrant live music of local artists, I was in love with the venue," Stockbuerger said.
One day, Showtime owner Matt Sieberg invited her to host anything she wanted in their space. She immediately had lots of ideas and knew that she could put her talents to use in a variety of ways there.
"But my heart knew what it wanted. The Minnesota community held strong verses ICE. Neighbors were helping neighbors, people were donating food and clothing to strangers, sharing time with people they barely knew. I heard so many voices saying, 'I don’t want this Neighborly Bond to dissipate.' or 'I don’t want people to forget how much kindness is here,'" Stockburger said.
So she asked if she could host an art-focused Juneteenth event at Showtime, as a way to keep the community close, bring people together, share her culture with her neighborhood, and give Black artists and musicians and opportunity to be showcased.
Showtime was on board and then Arts Roseville got involved too as a co-sponsor of the event, providing some funding to help with event materials and marketing.

"For an event such as this, it was obvious that our missions aligned! It has been fun to partner with them as I am learning so much from them since this is my first time organizing an event on this scale! Everyone is so kind," Stockburger said.
There will be live music, artist booths, a children's book nook, craft tables, and interactive activities.
"Our group of artists and performers for the event are so jazzed to be with you all and share a piece of their hearts to inspire and bring joy to everybody! Everyone’s been practicing hard and looking forward to the event!" Stockburger said.
Performers include:
- Chanelmarie Brooks
- The Nu Bluz Ministry
- Sesay
- Venus Yevu

The Showtime Juneteenth Jubilee will be on Friday, June 19 at Showtime Studio & Coffee at 2700 Lexington Ave. N in Roseville from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
