Updates about local government, schools, and community life
Good morning, Roseville!
Today's newsletter includes information about the Roseville City Council's budget work session, a school supply donation drive, a new article about the Philando Castile Remembrance Days last week, and more hyperlocal news to keep you informed and involved.
Let's jump in:
Government
City Council
This week the Roseville City Council is meeting on July 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Roseville Fire Station for a work session. This meeting will not be livestreamed and a video recording will not be available, but the meeting audio will be recorded and minutes posted later, according to City Manager Pat Trudgeon. The meeting is open to the public and seating will be available for people who want to observe.
The city council will be reviewing and discussing departmental budget requests before the City Manager develops a recommended 2027 budget. An initial overview of anticipated budget pressures was provided to the city council in another work session on April 20, 2026. No votes will be taken during this work session.
"Although we don't have these types of work sessions in Roseville very often, many cities use work sessions on a regular basis that are off-camera and often in a different room than Council chambers," Trudgeon said in an email.

Summer Publishing Schedule

We're trying to slow down our publishing pace this summer, so there will be fewer articles for awhile. We'll also keep this weekly newsletter coming on Mondays to keep you in the loop about what's happening in local government and the community.
The work doesn't stop when you're a solo news entrepreneur wearing all the hats, but I'm hoping to take it a little slower to enjoy these precious summer days with my family, get out in the garden, connect with friends, and refresh.
