Who is running for Roseville, MN mayor and city council in 2026?
A Primary Election will be held on August 11, 2026.
The local election for Roseville mayor and city council is officially underway. There are three candidates for mayor and eight candidates for two seats on the city council.
Due to the number of candidates, there will be a Primary to decide who will be on the ballot in the General Election. According to Roseville City Code:
"When there are candidates for election to municipal office in excess of two for the office of mayor or in excess of two for each office of councilmember, then a municipal primary election shall be held for such office or offices on the same date as the state primary election in each even-numbered year."
The Minnesota Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026.
Roseville mayor and city council are nonpartisan, at-large seats. That means they don't officially represent a political party or a specific area of Roseville. That doesn't mean they can't seek an endorsement from a political party or don't hold partisan views.
